Frequently asked questions

Including the awkward ones.

Does Aura Price change prices in Booking and Airbnb by itself?

No. You get a suggestion and the decision is yours. You copy the approved price into your own system.

Where do you get competitor prices from?

We don't collect them from portals, because their terms forbid it. Instead you choose the properties you compete with and enter their prices for a chosen night. The recommendation takes that into account straight away.

Do I have to enter competitor prices for this to work?

No. The engine uses 9 factors and only one needs competitors' prices. Add them when the stakes are high: a long weekend, a trade fair, New Year's Eve.

How do I know a recommendation makes sense?

Every price comes with a breakdown: from the base price, through each factor, to the final amount. You can disagree with any step.

Doesn't the extra-revenue counter overstate results?

We count only accepted suggestions whose night actually sold. The cautious version compares with your own price for similar nights.

Is this legal?

Yes. We don't collect prices from portals, because their terms forbid it. We work from your data and open sources: official calendars and statistics.

My market has no recommendations yet. What does that mean?

Recommendations run where we have an event calendar and a yearly curve. Elsewhere you can see the demand curve without an account, and we will let you know when we launch.

How are you different from a rental operator?

An operator takes over your property and a percentage of revenue. We only handle prices, for a fixed fee, and the property stays with you.

What happens to my data?

Your data is kept separate from other customers' data. You can export or delete your account at any time in the settings.

How long before I see an effect?

Setup takes a few minutes and the first suggestions arrive right away. Booking pace needs a few weeks of your calendar, and you can judge the result after a full season.

Why do you need my cleaning cost?

So we know below which price a night stops paying for itself. The field is optional. We don't ask about rent or loans, because you pay those anyway.

If many hosts in my city use the same tool, won't prices spiral downwards?

Not with us. We don't look at neighbours' prices, so there is nothing to undercut. The starting point is your own base price.

Won't the tool push prices down to generate more bookings?

We have no interest in that: you pay a fixed fee regardless of the number of bookings. The price will not go below your break-even either.

Do I pay a percentage of bookings?

No. You pay a fixed monthly fee per property. The first 30 days are free, with no card.

I turned on the portal's automatic pricing and my rates went down. Will it be the same here?

No. We don't send prices to any system, and every suggestion waits for your click, together with its reason.
