How do you set prices: by hand, in a spreadsheet or with a tool?
All three ways work. They differ in how much work they take, whether they show where the price comes from, and who approves a change. We put them through the same questions, and at the end we show where Aura Price stands.
Three ways you set prices today
Manual prices
You set the price yourself, from experience and what you see at neighbouring properties. It costs nothing but your time, and for one property it is often enough.
Where it gets hardYou do not know every event nearby, and reviewing dozens of nights each week takes time.
Spreadsheet
You write your own rules and prices in a spreadsheet. You have full control and a model fitted to your property.
Where it gets hardYou enter holidays, school breaks and events yourself, and you fix the rules after every change in the market.
Pricing tool
A tool calculates the price for you from season, events and occupancy. It saves time.
Where it gets hardTools differ in who approves a change, whether they explain the price and how they charge. Check this before you choose.
Four questions for every approach
| Other approaches | ||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Manual prices | Spreadsheet | Pricing tool | Aura Price | |
| Holidays, school breaks and events | You collect them yourself | You enter them yourself | Depends on the tool | Built in, and you add your own |
| Where the price comes from | From experience | From your formulas | Depends on the tool | A factor breakdown for every night |
| Who approves the price | You | You | You or an automatic process | Always you |
| How you pay | With your own time | Time to build and maintain | A fixed fee or a commission | A fixed fee per unit, no commission |
What you get with Aura Price
You know why this price
For every night you see how much season, an event, the day of the week and occupancy added. You can check the price before you accept it.
The decision stays yours
Nothing changes in your systems without your approval. A suggestion that does not fit, you reject with one click.
A fixed fee
You pay per unit, with no commission on revenue. When you sell more, the bill stays the same.
Which approach to choose
One property and a calm season: manual prices are enough. Your own model and time to maintain it: a spreadsheet. Saved time, the source of every number and the decision on your side: Aura Price.
What Aura Price does
It suggests a price for each night and explains why. You approve the price: Aura changes nothing in your systems without your decision, and sending to Beds24 happens with a button. The fee is fixed per unit, with no commission on revenue. We do not take over bookings.
What Aura Price does not do
We do not collect competitor prices from portals, so we will not show you their rates live. You enter the prices of a few properties you consider competitors yourself. We do not promise a specific revenue increase.
The description of the approaches is general. Specific tools, spreadsheets and systems may work differently, so check their terms before you decide.
